Job Description:

Ferry Industries is a recognized leader in the rotational molding industry. We’re proud to offer the global market our family of products, which includes RotoSpeed™ rotational molding machines, and Femco™ precision bandsaws among others. Ferry needs an Electrical Engineer with experience in electrical schematics, hardware application and PLC programming on large-scale automated machinery.

FSLA Status: Exempt

This position will be responsible for:

  • Start-to-finish electrical engineering design, development and revisions for machinery produced or supported by the company, including but not limited to quoting and estimating jobs prior to order placement with company.
  • Creating, editing and supporting bills of materials, electrical drawings and programs within the requirements and expectations set by the company,
  • Creating, modifying and testing application configurations according to equipment options as required by customer orders.
  • Modifying existing software applications to enhance current functionality or to add additional features or capabilities.
  • Supporting the installation, debug and commissioning of software components and systems at company locations and possibly customer facilities

Qualifcations:

  • Versed in Electrical codes and safety standards for both USA and European markets
  • Able to create clear and functional electrical designs that will meet the concept requirements, quality, cost, and delivery needs of the end customer.
  • Experienced in AutoCAD Electrical design software including large electrical panel layout.
  • Experienced in applying GE and/or Allen-Bradley PLC’s control systems for industrial equipment.
  • Experienced with variable-frequency AC drives
  • Able to program / support PLC ladder logic (GE and/or Allen Bradley).
  • Some Object-oriented development skills (automated unit testing, architecture, etc.)
  • Some experience with industrial HMI or SCADA software

Education & Training:

  • B.S. degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technology
  • 4+ years of related experience in similar industry
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of following software packages: MS Office, AutoCAD Electrical, with basic knowledge of GE Proficy and/or Rockwell Studio 5000, Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio.
  • Engineers must be able to lift 50 lbs., ability to stand, kneel, sit and bend for long periods of time, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Minimal travel is expected and primarily within the USA, Canada & Mexico. Must have or be capable of acquiring a US passport for international travel if needed. Travel is anticipated to be less than 5% annually, sometimes no travel will be needed except for the local area. The ability to travel locally, domestically or internationally in support of sales and special engineering support.
